Approximately 85 water consumers in Tyrrell County in the area of the Alligator Community, including Goat Neck Road, Pledger Landing Road, Fort Landing Road, Newfoundland Road and Old Highway 64 are experiencing low pressure and outages due to an accidental line cut by a utility contractor. Periods of low or no pressure in the water system increases the potential for back flow and bacteria in the water system.

Water has already been restored in most areas. Once restored, Tyrrell County Utilities advises that consumers boil all water used for human consumption or use bottled water. Boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water. This Notice only applies to customers in the Alligator, Newfoundland Road and Old Highway 64 area.

This advisory remains is in effect from December 18, 2017 until lifted by Tyrrell County Utilities.
